I have been praying regularly for at least 70 years. So 70 x 365 x 2 = 51,100 prayers minimum. Although they have never been exactly the same, a lot of them have been pretty rote, like 25 variations of a single prayer. That's a little embarrassing but it could have been worse.

Slowly, over those years, I have managed to sort of step back and watch myself and make progress by slowing down and thinking seriously about what I was actually doing before starting.

More recently (the past decade or so) I've been able to focus on bringing more parts of good prayers together. And then last month, I was able to articulate more clearly what happens when I try to pray with faith.

This post is about that.
